Anand (Andy) Pillay

Anand (Andy) Pillay is a member of the firm's Real Estate and Business/Commercial Transactions practice groups. He also works extensively with Presidential Title, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Paley Rothman that handles commercial and residential real estate settlements throughout the Washington metro area and serves as an agent for several of the largest title insurance underwriters in the country. Mr. Pillay's practice includes drafting commercial leases, deeds and residential purchase/sale agreements as well as providing real estate litigation support. His work in business transactions includes entity creation and organization.

Prior to and during law school, Mr. Pillay worked for a variety of organizations, including the Department of Justice Criminal Division, Office of International Affairs and an international debt collection agency. He also gained extensive experience in real estate as a summer associate and law clerk for a prominent law firm in the Boston area.

As a law student at the New England School of Law (J.D., 2006), Mr. Pillay founded the school's Real Estate Development and Management Group and was selected an associate editor of The Journal of International and Comparative Law.

A D.C.-area native and a graduate of Landon High School in Bethesda, Md., he earned his B.A. with distinction from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. He is a member of the Maryland and Massachusetts Bars.
