Marianne Kayan is a member of the firm's Tax, Estate Planning, Estate/Trust Administration and Business/Commercial Transactions practice groups. She helps clients implement proper tax, business succession and estate planning procedures and prepares a wide variety of documents including operating agreements, buy/sell agreements, wills and sophisticated trusts.

During law school, she participated in the tax clinic representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service. She received an award from the Tax Section of the Federal Bar Association for her article on the WTO dispute involving Foreign Sales Corporations and the Extraterritorial Income Exclusion Act. In 2007, she was selected as a Fellow to the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. During the two year fellowship, she will work closely with the Section's International Tax Planning Committee.

Ms. Kayan is currently completing the requirements for her Masters of Laws in Taxation degree and Estate Planning Certificate at the Georgetown University Law Center. She received her J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's William H. Bowen School of Law and earned her B.A. from Hendrix College with a degree in Business and Economics, Accounting emphasis. While completing her undergraduate education, she spent a year studying international relations, the European Union and economics at the University of Malta.

Ms. Kayan is admitted to the Maryland, District of Columbia, Arkansas and U.S. Tax Court Bars.
