Ronald A. Dweck is a member of the firm's Business/Commercial Transactions, Tax and Nonprofit practice groups. He concentrates on corporate, business and tax-related matters, and serves as general counsel to large and small corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and business organizations in various fields. His corporate work includes preparing and negotiating a wide variety of business contracts, as well as counseling in conjunction with executive compensation, corporate governance and risk & litigation management.

Mr. Dweck has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating business and financing transactions, including the sale, merger and acquisition of companies, reorganizations, private placement syndications and commercial real estate transactions. He is an experienced tax attorney who represents corporate and individual clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities. He frequently acts as special tax counsel in conjunction with corporate and partnership transactions and also works extensively with nonprofit organizations concerning their corporate needs.

A regular lecturer on business and tax law topics, Mr. Dweck was the Business Law Section Editor for the Annual Review of Maryland Case Law for many years and is a former chairman of the Tax Section of the Montgomery County Bar Association. Prior to joining the firm, he was an attorney with the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice, representing the U.S. government in tax cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeal.

Mr. Dweck graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he received his B.S. degree, cum laude, in Economics. He earned his law degree from American University where he was a recipient of the Casto-Southard Memorial Award in Constitutional Law, the Lawyers Cooperative Book Award in Real Property and was a member of the Law Review. He is a member of the bars of Maryland, the District of Columbia, the United States Tax Court and several United States Courts of Appeal.
