Patricia M. Weaver is Chair of the Appellate Practice group and a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Litigation practice groups of Paley Rothman in Bethesda, Maryland.

Over the past 15 years, Ms. Weaver has handled numerous appeals, authored briefs and argued before the Maryland Court of Appeals, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Ms. Weaver is admitted to, and awaits a chance to argue before, the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Weaver clerked for the Honorable Howard S. Chasanow on the Maryland Court of Appeals and has written articles on appellate practice in The Legal Times, among other publications. She has also been a speaker at various continuing legal education (CLE) programs designed to educate other attorneys about appellate advocacy.

In conjunction with her ADR practice, Ms. Weaver serves as a mediator by court appointment and by private engagement. She has published articles on the advantages of a mediated resolution in business and all other variety of disputes; the most recent appeared in the 2006 “Legal Review” published in Montgomery County’s Gazette of Politics and Business.

In her trial practice, Ms. Weaver handles a variety of cases spanning the civil spectrum, but concentrates on complex commercial litigation and estate litigation. She has represented clients in many contract and real estate development disputes, sophisticated estate litigation matters and a number of employment/business competition cases. In addition to her numerous appearances in state and federal trial courts, she has represented physicians and psychologists before disciplinary boards.

Ms. Weaver is a past president of the Montgomery County Bar FoundationMontgomery County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Women’s Bar Association.  Ms. Weaver was appointed to the ADR Section Counsel in 2008 and is also a current member of the Maryland State Bar Ethics Committee.
