Members of this practice group have counseled the developers of some of Montgomery County’s most noteworthy projects, advising them on matters relating to site acquisition, site development, construction, financing (including structured financing, bond financing and state/locality enhanced financing), leasing, sales and dispute resolution matters. Our attorneys work closely with clients’ land use and zoning counsel to ensure that each aspect of a project is coordinated and in compliance with all state and local regulations.
Over the past decade, the Project Development group has served as lead counsel in projects valued at nearly $1 billion. Representative projects include The Washingtonian Center, MedImmune’s World Headquarters and Human Genome Sciences’ headquarters, laboratories and cGMP manufacturing facilities. Several of those sales have been recognized as “Transactions of the Year” by the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors and the Washington Business Journal's "Best Real Estate Deals." Members of the group also have extensive experience in dealing with residential planned communities.
