“I approach each of my clients with patience and empathy to ensure that the lines of communication are established at the heart of the client’s issue.”
Geoffrey T. Witherspoon, II, is an associate in the firm’s Family Law and Litigation practice groups. Geoffrey assists from case inception through enforcement of court orders and agreements in a wide variety of domestic relations matters. He utilizes a client-centered approach to litigation and believes it is important to meet people where they are because when the client is heard, it is easier to serve their best interests.
Geoffrey previously provided counsel and assistance to Paley Rothman across all practice areas as a law clerk. He left for a short time to work for the Maryland Center for Legal Assistance before returning to Paley Rothman. His previous experience also includes working with the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and clerking for several judges on the domestic relations calendar at the District of Columbia Superior Court. Geoffrey's most rewarding professional experiences were serving as a lead research assistant for the Domestic Relations Manual with the District of Columbia for two years and serving as Co-Chair of the Social Justice Committee of the Washington Bar Association Young Lawyers' Division for three years.
Geoffrey earned his bachelor’s degree in Legal Communications from Howard University in 2011 and his J.D. from Howard University School of Law in 2014. While studying at Howard, he was a member of the Human Rights & Globalization Law Review. Through these experiences, Geoffrey found his passion for social equality and the legal process. Geoffrey’s lifelong goal is to ensure that impoverished communities have access to quality representation, access to resources that promote generational wealth, and access to justice as they understand it.
When Geoffrey is away from the office, he spends much of his time reading self-help books and binging true-crime podcasts.
