Howard Soypher co-chairs the firm’s Family Law practice group, and is a member of its Litigation practice. He focuses primarily on a variety of domestic relations matters, representing clients of all walks of life. He also represents clients in a range of civil litigation matters, including estate and trust litigation. Howard’s approach is both efficient and direct, he gets the job done quickly and knows that time is money. He has a reputation for being fair with his clients and the opposition, knowing which battles need to be fought. He is known for his accessibility, making himself available to his clients when it is convenient for them, including before and after traditional business hours.

Howard’s family law practice is focused on complex financial issues such as the valuation of business interests and other assets, and also includes dispute negotiations along with prenuptial, separation and other agreements. His general litigation practice focuses on counseling trustees and trust beneficiaries in matters relating to will contests, disputes regarding distributions, and breaches of fiduciary duty. Howard is also retained by clients for private mediations and arbitrations.

In recognition of his outstanding work, Howard was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), a national organization whose members are recognized for maintaining the highest degree of professionalism, integrity and excellence in the practice of family law. He is one of about 30 attorneys in the state of Maryland to be named to this prestigious group.
