Hope Eastman Provides Commentary in SHRM Article on Diversity During Holidays
Hope Eastman provides commentary in Society for Human Resources article, “Celebrating the Holidays and Diversity in the Workplace,” by Susan Milligan (December 2, 2015). The article addresses sources of conflict for HR managers with regard to celebrating the winter holidays in the workplace.
With respect to days off: “’Some [employers] give major Christian and Jewish holidays off and are moving to include major Muslim holidays as well. Others still give off just Christmas but have floating holidays which employees can use for other religious holidays,’ said Hope B. Eastman, principal with Paley Rothman in Bethesda, Md., and co-chair of the firm’s employment law group.”
