Paley Rothman’s Patricia Weaver Receives Leadership in Law Award
BETHESDA, MD — Paley Rothman’s Patricia Weaver has received The Daily Record’s 2011 Leadership in Law Award, given to legal professionals who deserve special recognition for their dedication to their occupation and communities.
Ms. Weaver focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and estate litigation. She also chairs the firm’s appellate practice group, and has handled numerous appeals, authored briefs and argued before the Maryland Court of Appeals, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
In addition to acknowledging her legal accomplishments, the award also recognized Ms. Weaver for her contributions to her community. She does pro bono appellate work for the House of Ruth, an organization that assists women and families affected by domestic violence, and volunteers at Shepherd’s Table, a soup kitchen in Silver Spring, Md.
Ms. Weaver earned her law degree from the University Of Maryland School Of Law, where she was Order of the Coif and editor of the Maryland Law Review. She is the immediate past president of the Montgomery County Bar Foundation and past president of the Montgomery County Bar Association.
