Regulatory Law & Litigation
Paley Rothman’s regulatory law and litigation practice group focuses on products, acts and practices that are regulated by governmental agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), among others.
We represent manufacturers, distributors and users of chemical, food, drug and consumer products in government investigations, enforcement proceedings and litigation. We also counsel clients in transactions involving regulated products and businesses, including negotiations and drafting of supply, distribution and licensing agreements.
Paley Rothman’s regulatory law attorneys also handle matters related to the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). We have earned an international reputation from our successful representation of pesticide companies around the world as well as from having served as counsel in several landmark decisions under FIFRA. Complementing our work related to FIFRA, we advise clients on issues arising under the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA), the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), among other statutes.
Paley Rothman handles every aspect of environmental law, including licensing and permitting issues, waste disposal, land use and compensation. The regulatory law and litigation group also represents clients in federal and state court litigation involving product liability claims, false advertising, unfair competition and other matters.
