Change Comes to the Commonwealth – A Virginia Employment Law Update
Despite the disruptions caused by the Coronavirus, the Virginia General Assembly has been extremely active this spring, passing nearly a dozen new employment laws. In just a few months, Virginia has gone from being the “wild west” of the DMV to having a broad nexus of new laws providing Virginia employees a wide range of protections much akin to their neighbors across the river.
From restrictions on the use of non-competes, to the expansion of the Commonwealth’s non-discrimination laws, to increases to the minimum wage, just to mention a few, Virginia employers have a lot to digest.
During this webinar, Paley Rothman’s employment law group will provide participants with an overview of Virginia’s many new employment laws and a discussion of what businesses should be doing to adapt to them.
Jim Hammerschmidt, Chair of Employment Law, Scott Mirsky, Employment Law Principal, Jessica Summers, Employment Law Principal, Hayes Edwards, Employment Law Associate will discuss these topics on Thursday, June 18, 2020.
