Jim Hammerschmidt provided added insight for Joyce Rosenburg’s forecast for Small Business in 2017, which appears in the Associate Press coverage nationwide.
"The decision to appoint Puzder as labor secretary is a big indication that there's going to be a significant rollback of Obama administration initiatives. Small business owners whose companies are located in more progressive jurisdictions or operate across local or state borders will have to deal with a patchwork of local and state employment laws that may be difficult, time-consuming and likely aggravating to navigate."
His full comments now appear in several publications nationwide. You can read them in the AP, in the article titled: "Great expectations: Small businesses upbeat about 2017."
Jim is Co-Chair of the firm's Employment Law practice group and a member of the firm's Litigation and Appellate practice groups.
